Easter Holly Week ceremonies and celebrations in Corfu are the biggest religious events of the year that attract thousands of visitors both from Greece and all over the world.

From Maundy Thursday, the musicians of the Old Philharmonic of Corfu, dressed in their impressive red uniforms, pass through the old town playing mournful marches, while on Maundy Friday, in the procession of the Epitaphs, a large number of people participate in the funeral procession, which takes place under the sounds of choirs and philharmonics, giving an unforgettable melodic and immersive experience.

On the morning of Holy Saturday there is the first Resurrection and the custom of throwing potteries (botides), during which hundreds of clay jugs are fired from balconies and windows in Spianada. At midnight the second Resurrection takes place with the sky decorated by colorful fireworks that accompany the celebration of the orthodox miracle.
